  • We now have 2 partner races!

    • We understand it can be hard to make all the races in the TRS and we also want to highlight other similar trail races happening in our area. Participating in these partner races will earn you points towards our overall series championship. These races are held independently of The SF Run Club TRS and have no affiliation with the Club other than the points series tie in.

    • Any questions on these races and to register, please refer to the presenting groups below.

Camden State Park Trail Races
3 | 7 | 10 Mile Distances
August 22nd - 9am

Race Details:

  • Camden State Park in SW Minnesota is part of the Coteau des Prairies (highland of the prairie) plateau. The Redwood River cuts through the park forming a wooded valley with ample hiking, biking, and running trails throughout the park. This is the furthest race from Sioux Falls, but the beauty of this park and diversity of the trails makes it a must run event. Skip the morning drive and camp at the park!

  • The 10 mile race is simply the 3 mile + the 7 mile course. The courses will start and end in the south parking lot by the Redwood River and Bluebird Trailheads. There is ample parking and we have the full group camp to use during our event. Trails vary from wide mowed paths to technical singletrack.

Big Sioux Rec Trail Races
2 | 5 Mile Distances
FREE 1 Mile Kids Race
September 26th - 9am | 10:30am (Kids Race)

Race Details:

  • Big Sioux Recreation Area is a beautiful park along the east edge of Brandon and has the Big Sioux River running through the middle of it. There are wide open prairies, bluffs, and heavily wooded areas to explore. There is a paved bike trail stretching the entire park north to south. There are also several dirt/grass trails and we’ll utilize them all to showcase this awesome park.

  • BSR is a great way to get started in trail running if it’s new to you. The races utilize the paved trail within the park and most of the off pavement trails are beginner friendly. Bring the family as we have a free kids race and camping is available in the park!

Newton Hills Trail Races
2 | 6 Mile Distances
October 10th - 9am

Race Details:

  • There is nothing quite like running at Newton Hills in October. Our series will wrap up here with the 25th running of the event and it never disappoints. This has been our most popular race every year and for good reason.

  • The 2 mile option is a popular race for families to run together. The 6 mile course takes you throughout the park on the all purpose trails and also on the 2 mile course. Peak fall colors at Newton Hills is not something you want to miss!

  • This is a great tune up race for Glacier Hills Ultra 20k - 30k - 50k as well!

2025 Donations

  • The TRS was financially successful 2025 and we were able to donate the majority of those funds to making our parks and trails better!

  • $2,000 was awarded to the Sioux County Conservation Board that manages Oak Grove Park.

  • $1,000 was awarded to Falls Area Single Track (F.A.S.T.) to help make a small dent in the Great Bear phase 2 funding campaign.

  • $2,000 is set aside to donate to Camden State Park for trail improvements as well.

We are looking forward to another great year of getting on the trails, racing, and having fun with the whole family! Keep a lookout in your inbox, Facebook, Instagram, and Strava for further details on the series. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions, want to volunteer, or sponsor the series.

Thank you for your continued support of local races that give back to your community!
